LGU-Samar extends support to wounded soldier

Camp Lukban, Catbalogan, Samar – Recently, Cpl Maximo Soliva, a wounded soldier of the 83rd Division Reconnaissance Company of the 8th Infantry Division Philippine Army received financial assistance from the Local Government Unit of Samar through the office of Hon. Governor Sharee Ann Tan Delos Santos. The soldier got wounded while his unit was surveying a Barangay in Basey, Samar on 29 May.

The troops were in the area as a response to a request from the local office of the Department of Tourism to promote and develop undiscovered tourist spots in the Province. Samar Island is the next frontier of tourism in Region 8.Inter-agency cooperation among the Local Government Units, Non-Government Organizations, and the 8th Infantry Division is a continuing effort that aims to produce more benefits and in the end uplift the socio-economic status of the Region.###
